Imagine you are at Disneyland, enjoying your time with your family and friends, when all of the sudden the sky opens up and it begins to downpour on your Disneyland vacation. SCORE! In this article, we will be giving you the top 5 reasons why a rainy day at Disneyland is the best day at Disneyland!

If you are one of the lucky few who actually gets to experience Disneyland in the rain, then you are in for a treat! Unlike Florida, It’s very rare for water to actually fall from the sky in California. So if you are lucky enough to come to Disneyland on the one day a year that it actually decides to rain, then you are going to have a fantastic day. As Adam is quoted to say in his episode titled What to Do in the Rain at Disneyland, “With the crowds away, the Insiders come out to play!”

1.    The Lines are a Fraction of the Wait!

When the rain comes down, the people pour out! As it rains, many people decide that it isn’t worth it to stick around in the park. So if you are willing to endure the weather, you will be greatly rewarded with low lines and fun times! There are so many incredible rides at Disneyland, and most of the rides continue to stay open during a rainy day, meaning you can really rack up your ride count! So if you are excited to ride the big rides like The Incredicoaster, Guardians of the Galaxy, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, or Star Tours or you prefer the slower rides in Fantasyland like Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, or the Carousel they are all still open!

Even if you aren’t prepared for a Rainy Day, ponchos are readily available at any of the shops in the park. Disney wants to make sure that you have the best experience possible, so they are there to keep you dry!

If you want to know more about where to shop and buy ponchos throughout the park, join Cara in this video where she tells you where you can do just that!

If you are really getting into the “Rainy Day” vibe at the Park, we highly recommend riding a ride like Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Run. As Adam eagerly states in his episode, “You are already wet. You might as well make the best of it!”

2. You Can Get INCREDIBLE Photos!

Getting your photo taken in front of the castle at Disneyland is the definition of magical. Now imagine it is so dark outside that the only thing you can see in the picture is you and the castle. Then imagine, that the beauty of the castle is reflecting off of the water droplets that have puddled underneath the castle. Then cue epic photo montage of all the great photos you have taken and the memories you have captured that will last a lifetime. Plus, if you add on the MaxPass to your Disneyland app for only $15 per day for anyone who wants it, you can download all of your Disneyland photos you have taken throughout the entire day. You can also get a Fastpass to either park right on your cellphone! It is super convenient and makes your Disney trip as easy as possible. If you want to see our epic photo montage, make sure to check out Adam’s Episode called “Disneyland In The Rain!”

3. You can Enjoy an indoor Show!

Disneyland has some amazing shows you can go see. You can duck inside to a nice dry theater and just catch a break from the weather if you are ready for a break. In DCA, you can venture into the Hyperion Theater and watch the smash hit, Frozen performed live! Trust us when we say, you won’t want to let this one go.

If you happen to be in Disneyland and not DCA, there are still shows to go see! We highly recommend Mickey and the Magical Map. It is an incredible musical show where Mickey goes on an adventure to uncover the secret of the map and become a true map maker! While this show isn’t completely indoors, it is covered giving you a break from the rain.

If you are definitely looking for an indoor show, then you should take a trip to Adventureland where you can watch a Disneyland original created by Walt Disney himself, The Tikiroom! In the show you will be transported to a Tropical Paradise filled with birds serenading you! If you are lucky, you might even spot the Disney Cast Member, Maynard who is just as much of an attraction as the show! What is great about this show, is it starts every 15 minutes. So if you still aren’t ready to venture into the rain, watch the show again! Once you are finished with the show, you can venture over to the new restaurant called The Tropical Hideaway! 4. You Can Experience Indoor Attractions!

It’s like Disney knew that at some point, California would decide that it was going to rain Disney has some indoor attraction that are really awesome! In DCA, they have the Disney Animation Building that has some super fun activities going on all the time. They have the Animation Academy where they teach you how to draw a different Disney Character every half hour! In the same building you are invited to meet Anna and Elsa, explore Belle’s Library, and even have a conversation with Crush from Finding Nemo! There are so many funs things to do inside the Animation Building. If you have little children who are with you, they might love Disney Jr. LIVE located right next door to the Animation Academy where they can interact with all of their favorite Disney Jr. Stars! There is so many things you can do indoors at Disneyland to avoid the rain, and that’s just is DCA!

Over at Disneyland, there is something very similar to the Animation Academy. It is a great place to go inside and enjoy everything Star Wars! If you head on over to The Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland, you will find a great indoor venue that has multiple indoor things to do. There, you can join the Resistance and meet Rey or Chewbacca! However if you are a Dark Side supporter, you can be admitted to the First Order and meet Kylo Ren or Darth Vader! After you have met your favorite Star Wars characters, you can play Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, or you can relax and enjoy an interview with the head of Star Wars and what the franchise means to them, occurring every 15 minutes in the waiting room!

5. It’s Still Disneyland!

Rain or shine, Disneyland is ALWAYS the Happiest Place on Earth! Having a bad experience at Disneyland is very difficult, and the rain doesn’t make your visit any less magical! Sure, you might have to improvise a little bit with your activities, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have an amazing time! Whether the lines are shorter, you enjoy an indoor show, or you go all out and ride Splash Mountain repeatedly, you are sure to have an awesome time!
